General Mills has released its 2019 Global Responsibility Report, which focuses on employee engagement, planet commitments and food security, and details GM’s approach to creating environmental, social and economic value in the countries where it operates. Among the highlights of the report are:

  • The company’s $4+ million investment in soil health initiatives on US agricultural lands and the development of a Regenerative Agriculture Measurement Protocol, which helps determine agricultural management’s effect on soil health.
  • A 13 percent reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the areas of agriculture, packaging, producing, shipping, converting, selling and consuming.
  • Empowering 30,000 retailers to recover 4.2 billion pounds of surplus food to feed hungry people.
