Flowers Foods Announces Strategic Organizational Realignment

The move is being taken to bring a more structured approach to innovation and the development of additional products, while enabling the company to build on the strength of its brands.

Flowers Foods, Inc. is implementing organizational structure changes to increase its focus on brand growth, product innovation, and the improvement of the company’s cake business operations. Among the changes are the consolidation of its fresh packaged bread business unit and specialty/snacking business unit into a single function; the establishment of a standalone innovation function; the repositioning of the foodservice business from the snacking/specialty business unit to the sales function; and the appointment of David Roach to the newly created position of president of cake operations.
