I'm Susan Marshall. I'm Edson's General Manager. What I have showing today is a strapper for the beverage industry. So what helps to differentiate our product from some of the traditional methods is it's a robotic application, and it actually takes the strap cutting from the side of the pallet, so it's able to do both full size and partial pallet shipments at the same time.
So it will do a vision system to identify the label in the position that it's on on the case stacks, and then it will pull that off, validate that it's the right stack to go into the downstream equipment, remove the tag, and then it will go back to identify where the straps are. It will run across the full side, takes the strap, cuts the strap, pulls it into a chipper, and then it will go back to the exact same location and feed through until all of the straps on one side are removed.
Following that, it will go to the 90 degree side from that to remove the straps going in the opposite direction until the pallet is fully removed from straps, and then it's available to go into depalletizer downstream from the equipment. The chipping mechanism has a bucket underneath it that is available to be located and removed from the outer side of the guarding so that that can be changed without interruption to the overall machine. So it allows for continuous operation and can be fed by AGV, LGV, or fork truck, and allow the full system to be fully autonomous.
To maintain product, we make sure that we are pulling the strap away from the actual pallet itself to make sure that we don't damage any of the empty cans, as they are quite delicate, and we want to make sure that we're not doing any product damage. The system now is going to return back to where it picked the last strap off to make sure that it's fully clear and that no straps remain. So even if a standard pallet normally has two, and a third one is put on an air, it will make sure that that is actually captured at the same time as well.
Once complete on one side, it will go back to the other side of the actual pallet and start removing the straps of that location. So as this works for both a full stack of cans or partial, it doesn't really matter, and the system doesn't need to look to see what is the difference on those. Thank you very much.
