FPS Showcases 72-in. Ambient Spiral Conveyor at IBIE

This spiral is designed for CIP and increased belt life, and conveys larger baked goods without needing to change their orientation as they exit the oven.

Fps Cmp Ambient Spiral

The ambient spiral from Charlottetown Metal Products (CMP)—a division of  Food Processing Solutions (FPS)—entered the market this year and was on display at the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) 2022 in Las Vegas. The belt can reach up to 72 in. wide, which allows bakeries making larger products to keep them in the same orientation they are at when they leave the oven to cool, meaning the product won’t be manipulated and have its shape altered.

A key technology from FPS used in the ambient spiral is the drive engagement bar on the drum. It introduces the belt into the cage using only stainless steel which is designed for full washdown capabilities and easier maintenance because it  experiences less wear. This increases the belt’s life and helps decrease downtime. Belt cleaners can be added to the belt to fit the needs of the bakery for the full clean in place (CIP).
