Tyson Site Has over 700 Workers Test Positive for Coronavirus

Employee test results lead company to state it expects continuing slowdowns and temporary idling of production facilities.

According to an Iowa Department of Public Health report released on May 5, 58% of the employees at the Perry, Iowa Tyson Foods meat factory have tested positive for coronavirus. Almost 900 workers were confirmed to have the virus at a Tyson Foods plant in Indiana just days before. Tyson released a statement that team member shortages or choices it makes to ensure operational safety will likely cause continuing slowdowns and temporary idling of production facilities.
