Bauducco has opened its largest U.S. manufacturing facility in Zephyrhills, Fla., marking a major domestic production investment for the Brazilian baked goods company. The 160,000-sq-ft facility is designed to bring advanced production technology, expanded capacity, and improved supply chain responsiveness to the company’s U.S. operations.
The new plant doubles the manufacturing capacity Bauducco previously had available for the American market and brings the company’s full wafer lineup under a “Made in USA” designation for the first time. The facility will support production of Bauducco wafer cookies, which are sold in chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and coconut varieties, as well as multiple package formats.
The Zephyrhills campus is designed to scale beyond 1.2 million sq ft of production and distribution capacity as Bauducco expands its U.S. footprint. The company expects the facility to employ more than 600 people at full production capacity, making it one of the larger food manufacturing employers in Pasco County.
Bauducco says the Florida facility will help shorten lead times, improve supply chain reliability, and allow the company to respond more quickly to retail demand. The investment also strengthens the company’s relationships with U.S. retail partners as retailers continue to emphasize domestic sourcing and American-made products.
Founded in Brazil in 1952, Bauducco produces baked goods sold in more than 50 countries and has been doing business in the U.S. for more than 20 years. The company says its products, including panettone, wafers, cookies, and toasts, are sold through most major retailers across the U.S.
