I'm Jay Kelly with Comprex North America. We are introducing a new technology here at PACK EXPO. It's our first appearance at PACK EXPO. We brought Comprex to the United States, and it's an innovative clean-in-place technology. It accelerates water at 10 times the normal velocity.

We go at 66 ft-per-minute to clean pipelines at 100 times better than traditional CIP, and the results have been 90% water savings and about 80% time savings, so it's been a big innovator for us, and we're three years new, and we're very excited to celebrate our potential final or a final nominee in our sustainability awards here at PACK EXPO. This is a demo unit to demonstrate the technology.

Essentially, we use [airous] BBs and magnets, and what that does is it demonstrates, it represents a pipe build up, and what you'll see, Vincent is going to turn this on, and it's going to emulate a traditional CIP velocity. So we're running at about roughly 10 ft-per-second, and you'll see the BBs just do not move.

So now you see there, it's hard to see, but there's actually a flow velocity, and nothing's really happening, so in the next step we're actually going to go into the Impulse technology, our patented Comprex technology, and you're gonna watch the BBs, very important to take a look at the BBs, and they're going to launch off there, and it's going to show the cleaning force inside the inside diameter of the pipeline. There it is.

So what you're seeing here is air entering into the pipes, partially-filled pipelines, knocks the BBs off every time. So the way this technology works is that, smaller masses can be accelerated much faster and they can work on dirt, so inherently lower water creates better results, creating more sustainable cleaning of your pipelines.

Condensation, energy loss, and sanitation failures often trace back to the same place. This free article shows where to look.
