Morinaga Milk Industry Co., Ltd. is investing more than $17 million in its subsidiary MILEI GmbH to double its production capacity of lactoferrin, a functional ingredient for infant formula, supplements, and other foods. Based in southern Germany, the operation is expected to launch in April 2021, and is projected to increase lactoferrin production to approximately 170 tons per year.
