Mondelēz International has made a commitment to make all its packaging recyclable and to provide recycling information in markets around the world by 2025. In addition, it has pledged all paper-based packaging will be sustainably sourced and 65 million kg of packaging material worldwide will be eliminated by 2020.
Mondelēz aims to achieve its long-term vision for zero-net waste packaging by providing design guidelines to packaging developers, setting priorities and identifying materials to use or avoid for its packaging; making it easier for consumers to recycle packaging; and supporting industry coalitions and public-private partnerships to develop a waste-management infrastructure to reduce waste and improve recycling rates around the world.
