Chobani plans to invest $567 million in a multi-phase expansion of its La Colombe Coffee Roasters production facility in Norton Shores, Mich., adding manufacturing capacity for the brand’s ready-to-drink (RTD) latte portfolio.

The project is expected to add more than 200,000 sq ft of production space to the existing plant and create nearly 340 new jobs while retaining 312 current positions. The expansion comes as demand grows for La Colombe’s RTD coffee beverages.

La Colombe’s canned lattes are produced at the Norton Shores facility using locally sourced Michigan milk. The company introduced the RTD line in 2016, aiming to bring a coffeehouse-style beverage to retail channels.

“La Colombe has been making ready-to-drink lattes in Norton Shores for more than a decade, and from day one this community has welcomed us with open arms,” says Hamdi UlukayaFounder and CEO of Chobani. “For us, growth is about more than numbers—it's about supporting the community, creating opportunity, and building something that lasts.”

According to the company, the expansion will also significantly increase the plant’s dairy demand. Milk purchases for the facility are expected to rise from approximately 30 million pounds annually to about 615 million pounds over the next several years as production ramps up.
