Perdue Foods is recalling approximately 167,171 lbs (83.5 tons) of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken breast nugget and tender products that may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically metal, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The problem was discovered after Perdue received consumer complaints about metal wire embedded in the product and notified FSIS of the issue. There have been no confirmed reports yet of adverse reactions from eating these items.
The frozen, ready-to-eat chicken breast nuggets and tenders were produced on March 23, 2024. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide and sold online directly to consumers.
Ice cream from Hershey's, Chipwich, and others recalled due to Listeria concerns. |

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ freezers. People who have purchased these products should not eat them, but throw them away or return to the place of purchase.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
