The ROSS MegaShear Model HSM-706MS-50 is designed for ultra-high shear mixing applications requiring rapid particle size reduction, emulsification, and homogenization. This sanitary inline mixer is ideal for processing liquids and semi-viscous materials in the pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic, and specialty chemical industries.
The patented MegaShear (US Patent No. 6,241,472) features a high-performance rotor/stator generator capable of operating up to 7,200 rpm, delivering tip speeds of approximately 11,300 ft/min for efficient dispersion and uniform product consistency. The mixer is powered by a 50 HP explosion-proof, inverter-duty motor for safe and reliable operation and enabling precise variable speed control.
Product-contact surfaces are constructed of Type 316 stainless steel and polished to a 150-grit finish to support sanitary processing and ease of cleaning. The mixing chamber is rated for operation up to 150 psig and 250°F and includes a stainless-steel jacket for temperature control. Tri-clamp inlet and outlet connections allow for straightforward integration into existing process lines.
This MegaShear Mixer also features a bearing housing with integrated cooling coils and a forced oil lubrication system, including pump, filter, and monitoring instrumentation, to ensure consistent performance during demanding operation.
