Kraft Heinz Investing $400M to Build 775,000-sq-ft Distribution Center

The new facility, which will be one of the largest automated CPG distribution centers in North America, is designed to drive Kraft Heinz’s supply chain efficiencies.

Kraft Heinz Main Entry

Kraft Heinz is spending over $400 million to build a 775,000-sq-ft national distribution facility in DeKalb, Ill. The distribution center will feature state-of-the-art automation technology and national railway access, allowing Kraft Heinz to drive supply chain efficiencies and distribute its products to retail and foodservice customers more quickly. The facility is expected to open in 2025.

The facility will include a 24/7 automated storage and retrieval system to help in the distribution of more than 60% of Kraft Heinz’s foodservice business and approximately 30% of all dry goods. The site is also expected to contribute to Kraft Heinz’s ability to reduce its operational environmental footprint through the implementation of sustainable technology and solutions to reduce the waste produced at the facility and minimize its overall environmental impact.
