Bonduelle Fresh Americas, formerly Ready Pac Foods, is installing an energy-efficient cogeneration system, which will self-produce more than 75 percent of its own energy, reducing energy consumption, lowering greenhouse gas emissions and reducing the carbon footprint at its Irwindale, California, production plant. This system will supply the plant with electricity while using the waste heat to provide chilled water to the facility through an absorption chiller. The project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
