Available for $6길, the report analyzes the PET packaging sector, including end-use markets, geographic regions, and cutting-edge technologies. Among the publication’s findings are the following:

• The United States is the largest user of PET packaging, followed by China and Mexico.

• Asia Pacific, central and eastern Europe, and parts of Latin America showed the strongest growth between 2001 and 2006.

• Due to a combination of market saturation for PET and a consumer trend favoring healthier beverage options, the carbonated soft drink sector has been growing more slowly than other applications in the past five years.

• Beer is forecast as the fastest-growing application for PET packaging in the next five years, with a 13% annual growth rate, “albeit from a relatively low base,” says Pira. To order the report, contact Neil Johnston at 011/44.1372.802.262, or by e-mail at [email protected]. —Jim Butschli
