Daydots: Freshness indicator labels

The new Smart Dot™ label system from Daydots is said to be the first label of its kind to illustrate the relationship between time and temperature using color as a freshness indicator.

Pw 12845 Daydots

Using TT Sensor™ technology from Avery Dennison, the base label is printed with special ink that irreversibly changes over time. When a clear activator label is applied over the yellow dot on the base label, dot begins to change color. At lower temperatures, change occurs more slowly. Suitable for many food products, and especially useful in safeguarding high-value, temperature-sensitive foods such as seafood or steaks. Labels come in rolls for easy application, and feature SupeRemovable® adhesive with Peel EZ Edge® for residue-free label removal.
