Hello, my name is Mike with Urschel Labs. What I'm going to show you today is our new DM 380 plate mill. The DM 380 was designed and we came out with it because we needed a mill to go along with our Cometro machine, which has been along for 40, 50 years and we really didn't have a way to pre grind the nut meats before we do the finish grind to make the very fine meat.
This machine here is quite similar to our model 3600 machines except, what we did is we replaced our cutting heads or our micro cut heads, uh, with a plate system. This is a 40 horse motor with a support system here. Inside here is where all the work is done. We have a stationary plate and a rotating plate here.
Peanuts or other products will go into this screw, come out this feed screw, go between these and you work the product, smush it, extrude it, and what you do is on a nutmeat like a peanut, you're actually kind of extruding the oil out of it as much as you can to make our Cometro much more efficient. It's a, it's a very simple operation.
You just screw it, you cut it, then we're gonna pump it here, basically, excuse me, to our other machine, which is our Cometro 1700, which has been launched. It's a product that's long used in the, the peanut butter industry. Other sauces, purees, a few purees and stuff like that. And, now we got a setup where we could actually feed product to the top of the plate mill, discharge it, go straight to the 1700, and you got finished product afterwards.
