Italian coffee company Lavazza Group has acquired Mars Inc.’s coffee business, which includes the Flavia and Klinx systems, two leading brands in the office coffee service and vending machine segments, for about $650 million, including debt. Under the deal, which is expected to close by the end of this year, Lavazza is taking over Mars’ coffee businesses in North America, Canada, Japan and Europe, including its production plants in Britain and North America.
