QuadFlex pouch recycles

Flat-bottom design combines exceptional on-shelf stability with five panels of branding billboard space.

Show Daily Exclusive - ProAmpac (Booth S-3386), a pioneer in sustainable flexible packaging, launches the No.2 QuadFlex pouch, the second member of its fully recyclable No.2 Pouch® platform. Made from a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) blend, ProAmpac’s No.2 pouches are fully recyclable in the No.2 HDPE+ recycle stream.

The result of an intensive research and development initiative to overcome processing challenges inherent to the quad-seal structure, the No.2 QuadFlex pouch features a flat bottom and four corner seals, enhances shelf appeal and combines exceptional shelf stability with five panels of branding billboard space.

The quad-seal pouch is available in small to large sizes for multiple market applications and can include an oxygen barrier. An organic lawn and garden brand will introduce the first commercial product in the No.2 QuadFlex pouch.

The quad-seal design joins the No.2 Stand-up pouch. Introduced in 2011, it earned a Gold Flexible Packaging Award for Environmental & Sustainability Achievement in 2013 from the Flexible Packaging Association (Booth N-5901, N-5760) and ranks as the first primary flexible package to participate in the How2Recycle program. Commercial No.2 pouches carry the How2Recycle logo, which provides instructions for recycling.

Adam Grose, chief commercial officer at ProAmpac, notes the company plans to expand its portfolio of sustainable flexible packaging products, including recycled-content and compostable pouches.
