The 5" package is offered in both a clamshell style, which is 30% lighter than a jewel case, and has a two-piece design. All are made of a blend of 50% reprocessed and 50% virgin PVC. For use in automated packaging lines.

Plastofilm Industries (Wheaton, IL) has announced three thermoformed packages designed to hold 31/2" CD-ROM discs and 5" CDs. The 31/2" design has two snap-together parts that can be stacked for multi-disc shipping or storage, and is interchangeable as the top or bottom.
