It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our long-time colleague Jeanne Schweder. She passed last week, at the age of 76, after a long battle with cancer.
Jeanne spent close to three decades writing about manufacturing and automation, and she has been a regular contributor to publications and custom work at PMMI Media Group for more than 10 years. I began working with Jeanne at Automation World in 2013. When I joined ProFood World in late 2020, it didn’t take long before I brought her into our fold here as well, eager to work again with such a well-versed and reliable writer.
Besides being just a wonderful person, Jeanne was one of the most knowledgeable and dependable freelance writers in the industry. A former newspaper editor, Jeanne also worked earlier in her career in public relations, doing communications work for such companies as Schneider Electric, SEW Eurodrive, and Siemens.
Continuing to write through her illness, Jeanne’s final contribution to ProFood World appears in our December print issue. Read her Tech Today coverage of mixers and blenders from that issue: “Fast-Changing Consumer Tastes Drive Trends in Mixing Equipment.”
