Boston-based Häns Kissle, a world-renowned provider of delicious, high-quality fresh-prepared foods, has broken ground on a $42.2 million, 98,000-sq-ft food manufacturing facility on 26 acres in Gastonia, N.C. The facility, which will produce ready-to-eat deli salads and fresh prepared foods, will take a little more than a year to complete. It is expected to create 230 jobs upon reaching full production.
A subsidiary of Mitsui, one of the largest corporate groups in the world, and Kenko Mayonnaise, one of Japan’s leading deli salads manufacturers, Häns Kissle manufactures ready-to-eat and seasonal fresh food items for retail, convenience stores, and foodservice. The new facility will enable it to expand distribution into additional areas of the U.S.
The company selected Gray, a fully integrated, global services provider for the food & beverage market, to design and build the new facility.
