Last month, the supplier was issued a letter of nonobjection by the FDA for direct-food contact including thermoformed trays for salads, fresh fruits and vegetables; containers for instant and regular coffees and teas; packaging for cereals with no surface fat content; and airline catering trays. The sheet is available in gauges from 0.01" to 0.04". Virgin PET layers require a minimal thickness of 0.001". Depending on part design and forming requirements, the use of 75% or more re-cycled content can be achieved, says the company.
