Tyson Foods Suspending Operations at Iowa Plant

Company plans to indefinitely suspend operations at Waterloo, Iowa pork plant due to COVID-19 concerns.

Tyson Fresh Meats, the beef and pork subsidiary of Tyson Foods, Inc., is going to stop production mid-week until further notice at its Waterloo, Iowa pork plant. The plant already had been running at reduced levels of production due to worker absenteeism. The facility’s 2,800 team members will be invited to come to the plant later this week for COVID-19 testing. Affected employees will be compensated while the plant is closed.
