Location of new Hormel solar energy project
Hormel Foods Corporation, in conjunction with IGS Solar, has begun construction of a solar energy project at its Lathrop, CA Swiss American Sausage Company facility. The solar system will consist of 1,998 panels constructed on roof and ground space, and is projected to generate approximately 1.2 million kWh annually, supplying over 15 percent of the facility’s yearly electricity consumption. The project is expected to be complete this July.
