Hoosier Feeder Company and PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, joined forces to support the Whitewater Career Center in Connersville, Indiana.

Through the PMMI U Skills Fund, the Hoosier Feeder Company and the PMMI Foundation provided matching donations that enabled Whitewater Career Center’s Welding Technology Program to host a Regional FFA welding contest last December. The event included 45 aspiring welders from 12 different high schools.

Whitewater Career Center offers a diverse range of 13 career training programs for high school students. The Welding Technology Program, in particular, provides an extensive curriculum covering various welding techniques like oxy-fuel cutting and shielded metal arc welding, as well as emphasizing safety skills, print reading, electrical principles, and mechanical drawing.

This year’s welding technology class includes 47 juniors and seniors. In addition to regular coursework, they actively participate in competitions such as the recent Regional FFA and the upcoming SkillsUSA contests.

“We are so proud to support Whitewater Career Center,” comments Stacy Johnson, vice president—business development at Hoosier Feeder Company. “The welding technology program provides students with an exceptional foundation as they transition into the workforce.”
